Revd Mark Burleigh BA was ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1986 following training at Spurgeon's College where he was awarded his BA (2:1) in Theology and Diploma in Pastoral Studies. He also holds a NEBSM Certificate in Healthcare Management and Cti Counselling Foundation Certificate. He served churches in Horsham, Sussex and in Leicester before making the move into Healthcare Chaplaincy. Mark has worked as an NHS chaplain in Leicester's hospitals since 1994 and has led the multi-faith team of chaplains since 2000. He also appointed the first non-religious chaplaincy staff member in the NHS.
Mark is currently (2016) the President of the College of Health Care Chaplains (CHCC), a director of the UK Board for Healthcare Chaplaincy Ltd (UKBHC) and serves on the Baptist Union interfaith working group.
His hobbies include music and cycling.
