Dr Muhammad Anas Zarka is currently an Advisor and member of the Sharia Group at The International Investor in Kuwait. Dr Zarka holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Damascus University, and an MA and PhD (Economics) from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He also received extensive tutoring from his late father, Sheikh Mustafa Zarka, a renowned Sharia scholar and author. Dr Zarka is a regular contributor and organizer of seminars and conferences around the world, as well as a frequent writer on many areas of Islamic finance and economics. In 1990, Dr Zarka was awarded the Islamic Development Bank Prize for his contributions to research in Islamic Economics. Dr Zarka is a frequent visitor to MIHE and regularly contributes to the online Distance Learning lectures delivered by IRTI to MIHE’s Islamic Finance students.
