On Saturday 16th September, the Markfield Institute of Higher Education was visited by a delegation of about 30 professors and students from the University of Osnabrück in Germany. The visitors were from the University’s Institute of Islamic Theology.
During their short visit, they were given a brief overview of the Markfield Institute, its history and current academic programmes and research projects by Dr Ataullah Siddiqui, a Reader in Religious Pluralism and Inter-Faith Relations. They were also given a tour of the campus by Dr Alija Avdukic and Usaama al-Azami, both of who are lecturers at Markfield, together with Dr Ataullah Siddiqui. The visitors toured the main teaching block, the library, the Kube Publishing bookshop and the Markfield mosque. The Institute was honoured to be able to host staff and students from Germany who are engaged in similar work.
