We were privileged to host Shaykh Dr Akram Nadwi

For our Open Day, we were privileged to be host to one of the UK’s leading ulama, Shaykh Dr Akram Nadwi who is an honorary visiting fellow at the Markfield Institute of Higher Education. Dr Nadwi is a prolific scholar who has written dozens of volumes in three languages: Arabic, Urdu, and English.

As the world’s leading authorities on female hadith scholars, the Institute asked him to give a talk about the importance of women’s scholarship in Islam, past and present. The lecture was attended by students and staff from the institute, prospective students, and members of the public. A recording will be made available soon.
